Updated: Feb 4

Drake begins a tough, three-game road stretch at Oklahoma on Tuesday.

The Scoop on Oklahoma

Drake (7-2) travels south to Norman, Oklahoma to battle the Oklahoma Sooners on December 17. The Sooners are 6-4 through their first 10 games, and are currently on a two-game win streak. Their two-straight victories have come at home, defeating then 25th-ranked LSU and Sam Houston State. In fact, all six of the Sooners' wins this season have come at Lloyd Noble Center.

Oklahoma was selected to finish seventh in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. The Sooners are a young team, boasting 10 total underclassmen. Despite their youth, Oklahoma remains one of the top offensive units in the country ranking 12th in points per game (80.4 - 3rd Big 12). OU is excellent from beyond the arc, leading the Big 12 in three-point field goal percentage (38.6%) and three-point field goals made (81 - 9.0 Per Game). Three Sooners average double figures in scoring, led by junior Ana Llanusa and sophomore Taylor Robertson who each score 19.2 points per game. Llanusa was a Preseason All-Big 12 selection, while Robertson currently leads the country in three-point field goals made (51).

Oklahoma is led by legendary head coach Sherri Coale. Now in her 24th season, Coale is nearing 500 career victories in Norman. Women's Basketball Hall of Fame inductee and former Missouri State standout, Jackie Stiles, joined the Sooner staff during the offseason. This will be the first meeting between Drake and Oklahoma since 1996. The Sooners lead the all-time series 3-0.

Tip-off from Lloyd Noble Center in Norman is at 7:00 P.M. Tuesday's broadcast will air on Praise 940 AM. *Not on TuneIn due to Drake Men's Basketball broadcast*
