Drake is Back on the Road to Face Their Second Power 5 Opponent in Five Days.

Drake (7-3) will travel east on I-80 to face in-state rival Iowa on Saturday night. The Hawkeyes (8-2) have won six out of their last seven games including three-straight. Iowa has notched wins over Clemson in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, Iowa State and North Carolina Central during their win streak. Iowa's last loss came on November 30 in the championship game of the Puerto Rico Clasico against Washington.
Iowa enters Saturday's contest ranking second in the Big Ten in scoring offense, averaging 79.7 points per game. The Hawkeyes rank third in the conference both field goal percentage (46.9%) and three-point field goal percentage (37.6%). Iowa leads the Big Ten and ranks fifth nationally in assists per game (21.1 APG) in addition to leading the country in Assisted Shot Rate at 74.3% (per HerHoopStats).
The senior backcourt duo of Kathleen Doyle (15.2 PPG) and Makenzie Meyer (15.1 PPG) pace the Hawkeyes in scoring. Sophomore Monika Czinano has become a consistent threat in the paint, averaging 14.9 points per game and shooting 71.4% from the floor.
Saturday will mark the 52nd all-time meeting in this in-state rivalry. Iowa owns a slim 26-25 series lead over Drake. The Bulldogs are searching for their first win at Carver Hawkeye Arena since 2001.

Drake opened their three-game road stand at Oklahoma on Tuesday night. Despite a strong fourth quarter surge, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome a second half deficit in a 93-84 loss. Seniors Becca Hittner and Sara Rhine each scored a team-high 22 points. Hittner has now scored 20 points or more points in 29 career games. Rhine collected a season-high 10 rebounds to record her first double-double of the season (23rd career).
Junior Maddie Monahan added 11 points while knocking down three triples on the night. Monahan has now scored in double-figures in four games this season. Senior Brenni Rose was the final Bulldog to tally double-figures with 10 points while adding seven rebounds and dishing out a team-high six assists.
Becca Hittner scored a team-high 32 points against Iowa last season. In three career games against the Hawkeyes, Hittner is averaging 24.3 PPG.
Both Drake (22.5) and Iowa (21.1) rank in the top-five nationally in assists per game.
Drake will now have faced five Power 5 opponents in their non-conference schedule. The Bulldogs are 2-2 against Power 5 foes.
