Bulldogs Extend Offers to Pair of Iowa Preps

Updated: Jun 30, 2022

Preparations for the upcoming 2022-23 season (and beyond) are well underway on Forest Avenue. Putting a cap on youth and elite camps, scholarship offers were given to a pair of Iowa high school standouts in the class of 2024. Drake is looking to bolster a class that already features Peyton McCabe (5'4" G | Omaha, NE). McCabe announced her verbal commitment to the Bulldogs last October.

Grace Knutson (5'10" G | Cedar Falls, IA)

The dynamic shooting guard is catching the eye of several coaches across the midwest. As a sophomore, Knutson paced a young Cedar Falls squad by posting 12.4 points per game. Connecting on 37 percent of her shots from the floor, Knutson drained 43 triples at a 32 percent clip. In addition to her scoring prowess, the 5'10" guard brought down 5.6 rebounds per contest, delivered 2.4 assists per game and nabbed 39 total steals. Hailing from a basketball family, Knutson's older brother (Joe) plays collegiately at Truman State.

Elise Jaeger (6'1" F | West Des Moines, IA)

The market is very bull(dog)-ish on West Des Moines Valley's Elise Jaeger. A big presence on the Tigers' state semifinal squad, Jaeger shattered the program's single-season rebounding record, pulling down 197 total boards (8.2 RPG). Averaging 12.1 points per contest, Jaeger shot an efficient 54.7 percent from the field and could stretch the defense, hitting 13 three-pointers. An all-round talent, Jaeger additionally would finish her sophomore campaign by leading Valley in assists (53) and steals (56). The 6'1" forward also holds an offer from St. Thomas (MN).
