Megan Meyer Transfers to Drake
Megan Meyer is now a Drake Bulldog.
The Mason City native made it official on her personal Instagram account, and first reported by Tommy Birch from The Des Moines Register.
Meyer played two seasons at Iowa, and will have three years of eligibility remaining.
In 40 career games with the Hawkeyes, Meyer averaged 2.4 points, 0.6 rebounds, 0.8 assists, shot 45.6 percent from the floor, and 37.0 percent from downtown. Last season, Meyer played in 29 of 30 games and averaged 8.8 minutes per game. The 5'8" guard scored a career-high 13 points against Western Illinois on December 22, 2020. Meyer's older sister, Makenzie, played at Iowa from 2016-20.
A prolific shooter and scorer, Meyer shattered numerous single-season, single-game, and career records at Mason City High School, totaling 1,882 points (school record) and knocking down 227 three-pointers. Meyer, alongside her older sister Makenzie, guided Mason City to a Class 4A championship in 2016 and was a four-time all-state honoree.
Meyer will be the first Mason City native to play at Drake since current Director of Basketball Operations, Cortni Rush, who starred for the Bulldogs from 2014-17.
